Project 365: Day 217 – From Bursa to Izmir

3rd February 2015 – Bursa, Turkey

The roads shared a flock of cars, heading further east
And hapless folks raced home, to the comforting stuff.
By the look of it all, it was clearly an impending emergency.
The clouds were ready to give birth. I wasn’t prepared enough.
Bursa, turkey, travel, photography

Get to a roof before those clouds come down – Bursa, Turkey

After nearly 8 days in Bursa, I finally left it. Oh, I will miss Isa and Ibrahim. They were awesome guests, totally awesome.

I should have left to Istanbul, since I had a flight to Serbia in 2 days. But I simply couldn’t leave without seeing Izmir. So, I took the nilufer bus in the morning to go to Izmir. Of course, there had to be some drama.

So, the service bus picks you up from Gorukle, and leaves you at Minteks, a cafe about 5 km away, from where the main bus picks you up. The first half of the story went on beautifully, and I was dropped in front of Minteks. Well, I waited for nearly 2 hours, to finally board the bus to Izmir. And to add to this, there were dark clouds looming on the horizon. I mean, really dark clouds!

Finally on the bus, Izmir was just 4 hours away. I wanted to explore some of the nightlife, but guess I was pretty zoned out by the time I got to the house of my CS host, Tugce (who informs me that the name is pronounced Too-chay).

Will crash a little bit, and check out Izmir in one day tomorrow.
