Project 365: Day 181 – Buddha and the beach

29th December 2014 – Unawatuna, Sri Lanka

The beach had me in its beautiful bosoms,
And I was like a lusting fool, falling for luscious sand.
Beyond a crazy hostel that had me getting wasted from the start,
The beach had barely begun to play its withheld hand.

The buddha smiles – Unawatuna, Sri lanka

I checked in last night into the craziest hostel that I have ever been in. Hostel Unawatuna is, literally, the bomb!

Last night was a crazy barbecue, from which I woke up today morning to see some sumptuous Srilankan breakfast. And just as it was over, the joints materialised out of nowhere. There goes the day.

Well, almost. We smoked and got high till the evening, only to realise around 5 pm that there was a beautiful sunset just off the Unawatuna beach. So, I walked out to see it with some other blokes from the hostel.

A little too late, actually. By the time we reached the Buddha statue at the end of the Unawatuna beach, beyond which was the sunset, it was already pretty dark.

We settled for the Buddha today. The Sunset will be tomorrow.
