Qn: The Hanseatic League was a commercial and defensive confederation of merchants and their market towns that dominated trade along the coast of Northern Europe. It stretched from the Baltic to the North Sea and inland, flourishing during the late middle ages. The below pictures shows the map of their reach.

The legacy of the league is now remembered in several names of European companies, but most importantly, in the name of an European airline carrier. Which airline?

Qn 13

Answer:

Lufthansa.

The naming of the airline has two theories. The more famous of which is that the name is derived from Luft (the German word for “air”), and Hansa (a Latin term meaning “guild” most commonly used historically in reference to the Hanseatic league).
