Project 365: Day 276 – The bridge band of Prague

3rd April 2015 – Prague, Czech Republic

The Vlatava river raged violently below,
And the winds mated with the castle dome.
But in the lilting tones of a jazz saxophone,
I found myself feeling like I was already home.
The bridge band on charles bridge in prague, czech republic

The bridge band – Charles bridge in Prague, Czech republic

The Charles Bridge in Prague, is a busker’s paradise. Many artists, musicians and performers gather on the bridge to showcase their art. But one group stands out among all of them, simply because they are so famous.

The bridge band – yes, that is the name – is headed by Jan Novak, and they play everyday from 1 pm to 3.30 pm at the bridge. Everyday. Unless the weather is hopeless.

Well, today the weather was great. And as we walked into the Charles Bridge, the soothing sounds of jazz invades your ears and will stay there for a while. These guys are so good, that the traffic on the bridge literally stops to watch them perform.
