Qn: The 8 beers in this picture, along with 2 other, form a group of 10 unique beers. What are these beers called, and why are they so special?
These are Trappist beers, which can only be made in Trappist monasteries. The order of the cysterians of the strict observations (O.C.S.O), also called trappists, make beer, bread and cheese for church finances, and these beers are supposed to get better with age. There are only 10 of them – 6 in Belgium, 2 in Netherlands, 1 in Austria and 1 in United States.
