13th January 2015 – Maafushi, Maldives
Where the powdery coral sands meet the blue rush, Where a life locked up in a shell, moves away from the ocean floor. When one’s birth is not the only thing to be cheerful about, She collects little sea shells on the sandy sea shore.
So today, was Victoria’s birthday. Yes, we were celebrating it in the most pristine waters on earth, but apart from that, we had no idea on what to do.
First, we checked some packages for snorkelling. But taking a look at the videos, it was obvious that there was not much of difference between snorkelling around Maafushi and going offshore. And we had already packed our snorkelling gear with us.
The other option is to take a day-trip to a resort. There are nearby resort islands like Rihiveli, Vaadhoo and Anantara. But again, the sand and the sea was exactly the same, and the only difference was the hospitality of the resort. And for that, you paid 60 USD per person, and 100 USD for the boat. So, we skipped that too.
We settled for a barbecue seafood dinner by the beach. And the guys at the Zest Cabana were very sweet to make a surprise birthday cake.
It worked, I have to say.
